Electronic Recycling Jobs Act Landfill Ban

Effective Monday, July 1, 2013 a statewide electronic waste disposal ban will go into effect in Colorado. The Electronic Recycling Jobs Act prohibits disposal of a number of electronic items in landfills and at transfer stations. 
The following electronics will no longer be allowed for landfill disposal at the Larimer County Landfill at 5887 S. Taft Hill Road, Fort Collins, or at the County transfer stations, as of  that date: televisions, CPUs, computer monitors, peripherals (keyboard, mouse), printers, fax machines, laptops, notebooks, DVD players, VCRs, radios, stereos, video game consoles and any video display devices with viewing screens greater than four inches diagonally. 
A number of recycling facilities are available in Larimer and surrounding counties. Go to: for more information including a map and list or and click on “who recycles what/electronics.”
