Devil's Backbone Management Plan

Identified in 2001 Larimer County Open Lands Master Plan, the foothills between the Devilís Backbone and Horsetooth Mountain Park have been a priority for natural resource protection by the Open Lands Program. The Devilís Backbone Open Space was acquired in several phases beginning in 1998 (Steve Wild Property) and ending in 2002 and 2003 (Indian Creek Property), with the intent to protect the foothills mountain backdrop between Ft. Collins and Loveland, the Devilís Backbone rock outcrop, native and rare vegetation, wildlife populations and to provide non-motorized outdoor recreational opportunities.
