New! Immunizations and Child Care Centers
Child care centers in Larimer County are licensed by the Department of Human Services. Certain health and safety standards must be met in order to protect the children attending the center.
Important Policy Change (effective January 1, 2013) for clients of Immunization Clinics
As of January 1, 2013, the Health Department began limiting its vaccination services for most clients with insurance. "Insured" is defined as anyone with insurance that covers the cost of vaccine.
The change is mandated by new Federal policies under the Affordable Care Act.
Because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), more clients the department has traditionally served should get vaccines at their primary care providers. In most cases, preventive vaccines will be paid for by insurance.
The Health Department will only be able to give vaccine to those who are in greatest need and
will continue to provide immunizations for the following groups:
Children
Children on Medicaid.
Children with no health insurance.
Children whose health insurance does not cover vaccines.
Children who are American Indian or Alaskan native- (no matter what insurance coverage they do or do not have)
Adults
Adults with no insurance- limited number of vaccines
Adults whose insurance does not cover vaccines- limited number of vaccines.
Adults with insurance- we may have vaccines available but patients will need to pay full price for the vaccine and apply for reimbursement from their insurance on their own.
International travel clinics will continue to charge full fee to be paid for by the client at the time of service.
The Health Department will still receive federally-purchased vaccines to respond to community outbreaks.

Flu vaccine for adults and children is available at the Health Department. For hours, prices and other information see the link below.
Our mission is to provide timely immunizations to infants and children, and to ensure that vaccinations required for school entry are available to school-age students. Please bring your or your child's immunization records with you when you come to the clinic. The nurse will review your immunization record to determine what vaccines you or your child needs.
Walk-in hours listed on right side of this page.
Clients receiving travel vaccines or travel counseling will be charged a visit fee in addition to the charge for the vaccines. The visit fee is $55 for the first person and $25 for each additional person. Prices for vaccines change frequently, please call 498-6700 to speak with a travel nurse about what vaccines you may need for your specific destination.
