Devil's Backbone Open Space
As part of my Master's thesis, I am examining the ecosystem impacts of Common Mullein. I completed my first field season over the past summer and am looking to continue the same research in 2014. Work would entail me visiting the site for several days, every other week during the approximate span of time listed. The schedule depends on weather and field conditions, so the start and end dates given encompass the earliest and latest I would be out. The research will be completed by myself and one or two field assistants.
Field work consists of monitoring study plots that I have established inside current mullein populations, as well as plots adjacent to the populations. I will continue to remove some mullein, while leaving other individuals as control plots. Measurements will be non-destructive, including metrics such as soil moisture, pollinator attendance, and plant community biodiversity indices.
My current field site is in the Devil's Backbone Open Space and does not conflict with any other current research in the area.
