Red Mountain Open Space
I will be completing the second season of my 2 year botanical inventory of Red Mountain Open Space, as part of my master's thesis at CSU. This will involve visiting RMOS 1-2 times weekly throughout Mar-Nov, during which time I will be collecting non-rare plant species, hiking off trail and utilizing primary maintenance roads on the property. I will be curating any collected specimens in the CSU Herbarium, and providing county officials with a complete species list of all vascular flora that I encounter during my study. Additionally, any data that I collect, or maps I create relating to species and/or community distributions, will be provided to the county as well. As per the conditions of my 2012 RMOS collecting permit, I will continue to submit quarterly reports to Jeffrey Boring documenting my progress.
