Family Caregiver Support Program

Are you a daughter or son caring for an aging parent? Are you a husband or wife caring for a spouse? Are you a friend or neighbor caring for an aging friend? Then you are a Caregiver and you are not alone! Family and friends provide 80% of care older persons receive. Caregivers often feel stressed and alone, trying to balance their own needs with those of their loved ones.

The Family Caregiver Support Program is federally funded through the Older Americans Act. The program was developed by the Larimer County Office on Aging to provide information, support and assistance to individuals who are caring for a loved one in the home who is 60 years of age and older or under 60 with dementia or a related disorder. Long Term Care Ombudsman Program - Resident Advocate

The Long Term Care Ombudsmen at the Larimer County Office on Aging are trained, experienced advocates who provide services to help resolve complaints and concerns within nursing facilities and assisted living residences. It is the job of the Ombudsmen to help long-term care residents obtain the services necessary to promote quality of life while maintaining their dignity. Ombudsman Linda Rumney wiht client

Adult Resources for Care and Help (ARCH)

ARCH is a program for anyone over 60, or for those over 18 with a disability, who need information on or referral to long term care services such as:

On-going help in the home
Advice about options for staying in the home or moving to a different setting
Understanding how to afford the help that is needed

Caregivers, families, and friends are also welcome to use the program! Short term case management is available as needed.
