The Risk Management Department administers Larimer County's risk management program to minimize harm to the physical, human, fiscal and environmental resources of the County and minimize the total cost of risk to the County.

Services Provided

  • Administers the County's self-insurance programs and insurance policies for workers' compensation and property/casualty lines of coverage.
  • Conducts safety training, ergonomic reviews, and loss control programs.
  • Identifies and evaluates workplace hazards and devises ways to control or eliminate them.
  • Administers auto, property, and injury claims in conjunction with Larimer County's third-party administrator and designated providers.
  • Conducts claim investigations to identify causes and develop preventive solutions to eliminate the potential for recurrences.
  • Administers Title II ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Compliance program designed to prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities and improve accessibility in all programs, activities, and services provided by Larimer County.

Please provide the following details, if applicable, when communicating with TRISTAR Risk Management: contact information, vehicle information, location of incident, date/time incident occurred, details of incident, witness information, county vehicle unit number, and police report number. 

You will be contacted by the assigned TRISTAR Risk Management agent within one business day after reporting your incident. 

Property Damage or Injury Related Claims

If you believe that you have suffered property damage or a non-auto related injury involving the County, please submit the following information in writing: date, time, location, type of loss, and other specifics.
