County Offices, Courts and the Landfill will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Critical services at Larimer County will not be disrupted by this closure.
The Land Use Code is a living document that changes over time to respond to new information and the needs of the community. Citizens are encouraged to provide comments or suggestions. The best way to affect changes in the Land Use Code is to:
9 a.m., Tuesdays
Commissioners' Conference Rm
200 West Oak Street, 2nd Floor
Fort Collins, Colorado
After a citizen submits a suggestion, Planning staff will be assigned to research the topic and the possible change to the Code. Staff will prepare a draft County response and present it to the Board as soon as possible or as staff resources allow. The Board will give staff direction on how to proceed.
Staff will work with County Commissioners and the Planning Commission as needed to draft a final response to the suggestion and determine what the next steps will be. Citizens who submit suggestions are asked to keep in touch with Planning staff to find out when the final response will be discussed with the Commissioners. Planning staff will prepare and present a final response to the suggestion at a future Administrative Matters meeting.
Further comments on these suggestions are not taken by the County Commissioners until such time as an official code amendment is proposed. If an amendment is proposed, standard procedures for public hearings will be followed that allow for public comment on a specific amendment.
