Park situation

 River Bluffs is OPEN.

Restrooms are CLOSED for the season but will reopen in the spring time!

For Natural Resources, events and activities, check out the events calendar.

Trail conditions: Be prepared for snow and ice in lower or shaded parts of the trail. Don’t forget to wear appropriate clothing and use Yak Tracks or shoe spikes on icy areas of the trail. Please STAY ON TRAIL during these conditions, failure to do so creates social trails and damages the natural vegetation under the snow.

River access (including fishing, floating, etc.) downstream of the parking lot is OPEN.

Mule deer, white-tailed deer, fox, and coyotes can all be seen wandering through this area. There is a prairie dog colony on the east side of the open space. The prairie dogs are a consistent food source for the raptors including the local bald eagles.

Bird sightings
Great horned owls, red-tailed hawks, and bald eagles are residents of River Bluffs Open Space. Various waterfowl enjoy the habitat of the Poudre River including wood ducks, teal, shovelers, mallards, and mergansers.

Weather conditions can change rapidly. Dress in layers, carry extra clothing, and be prepared for cold and wet weather.

See the Parks and Open Lands event calendar.
