The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance with locating 78-year-old Dorothy Nazarenus (05/14/1938). Dorothy was last at her home in southeast Fort Collins on the morning of March 9, 2017. A relative arrived at Dorothy’s home just after 8:00 a.m. this morning to pick her up for an appointment. The relative discovered Dorothy and her vehicle were missing and contacted LCSO. Dorothy has dementia and has driven away from her home in the past and was missing for several days. At this time, there is no reason to believe anything suspicious occurred at Dorothy’s home.
Dorothy is 5’4” tall, weighs 142 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. It is not known what Dorothy was wearing at the time she left her home. A recent photo of Dorothy is attached.
Dorothy drives a beige or gold 2001 GMC van with Colorado license plates 844BZW. The van is full size, has darker brown pin striping on the sides, and has been converted for camping to include a raised roof. The van also has a full size spare tire mounted on the rear cargo doors inside a hard cover. A photo of the van is not available at this time.
LCSO investigators have consulted with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation regarding the issuance of a Senior Alert. If you see Dorothy or her vehicle, please immediately contact your local law enforcement agency. If you have information regarding where Dorothy may have gone, or if you have had contact with Dorothy since yesterday morning, please contact Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Chris Wenrick at 970-416-1985.
