Longmont Police Officer Arrested

A Longmont police officer, Christopher Martinchick, DOB: 051270, has been arrested for two counts of Sexual Assault, a class three felony, and two counts of Criminal Invasion of Privacy for Sexual Gratification, a class one misdemeanor. An arrest warrant was issued July 15, 2013 for Mr. Martinchick and he turned himself in today at the Larimer County Jail. He is being held on a $25,000 bond. 

Once the investigation determined that the suspect was a Longmont officer and having the public's trust as a priority, the Longmont Police Department was immediately contacted and has cooperated fully with the investigation. 
The victim is an adult female. There was no threat to the general public during this investigation nor was it related to Mr. Martinchick's employment as a police officer. No additional information will be given about the victim.
The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
