Changing Aspen Leaves - RMNP

Moon Over My Open Space: Full Beaver Moon

See your Open Spaces in a whole new light! These programs will feature a short naturalist led moonlit hike at one of the County Open Spaces.

There are two interpretation for the moons name. One suggest the name comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. Second, long ago, this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze to ensure a supply of warm winter furs.

Please come dressed appropriately for the weather, and have a flashlight and water for the trail.

Each program will be approximately 2 hours. Programs are free but some areas may require a user fee for admittance.
