Winter Patrol in Hermit Park

Park Situation

 

Hermit Park Open Space is open and the Hermits Hollow Campground renovation is complete!  May 18th will see the first campers in to enjoy the improved campground!  We are fortunate that the smoke from the Hewlett fire is not impacting us.  The May weather continues to be an interesting mix of warm and sunny with blue skies, moving to cool/cold and cloudy with rain showers and once in a while a sprinkle of snow.  During this time of the year conditions and weather change frequently so please come prepared for all types of weather.   The vehicle use fee is unchanged and remains at $6.00 per day.  The camping fee increased to $24.00 per night and the cabins are at their seasonal rate of $80 per night.  The road into the park is open and in great shape.

Wildlife

There is an occasional deer, bobcat, and a few coyotes around along with the newly awakened bears.  There are also wild turkeys and elk about in the park so keep your eyes open!

Park Events

 

 

 

Hermit Park is now open for the 2012 season.  The seasonal office staff are back at work, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and Sunday hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The office will stay open later as the summer gets into full swing.  Questions may be directed 970-577-2090.
