New! Immunizations and Child Care Centers
Child care centers in Larimer County are licensed by the Department of Human Services. Certain health and safety standards must be met in order to protect the children attending the center.
To better serve our clients, immunizations are now available by appointment during clinic hours at the Fort Collins and Loveland offices. (see box, right, for clinic days and hours). Appointments will allow the Health Department to serve clients in a timely and efficient manner with shorter wait times.
Efforts will be made to accommodate your preferred appointment time during the clinic hours available.
Some changes are required by The Affordable Care Act which was implemented in January, 2013. These include:
The Health Department will continue to give routine vaccinations to those who are in greatest need, including the following groups:
International travel clinics will continue to charge full fee to be paid for by the client at the time of service.
The Health Department will still receive federally-purchased vaccines to respond to community outbreaks.
For information on the Affordable Care Act and preventive care coverage go to pricelessprevention.org.
Our mission is to provide timely immunizations to infants and children and to ensure that vaccinations required for school entry are available to school-age students. Bring your or your child's immunization records with you when you come to the clinic. The nurse will review your immunization record to determine what vaccines you or your child needs.
Travel immunizations are available to protect Larimer County residents from communicable diseases while traveling abroad.
Clients receiving travel vaccines or travel counseling will be charged a visit fee in addition to the charge for the vaccines. The visit fee is $55 for the first person and $25 for each additional person. Prices for vaccines change frequently, call 498-6700 to speak with a travel nurse about what vaccines you may need for your specific destination.
