NEW TURN LANES AT THE INTERSECTION OF COUNTY ROADS 5 AND 36

Project Number 304
(CR 5 / CR 36 Turn Lanes)

Last Updated: June 14, 2013

SCOPE OF WORK

Improvements are planned for the intersection of CR 5 and CR 36. The improvements will include construction of the following turn lanes:

  1. North bound to west bound left turn lane on CR 5 to CR 36
  2. West bound to south bound left turn lane on CR 36 to Colorado Youth Outdoors (CYO) entrance
  3. South bound to west bound right turn lane on CR 5 to CR 36
  4. East bound to north bound left turn lane on CR 36 to CR 5
  5. East bound to south bound right turn lane on CR 36 to CR 5

CYO is providing the financing for the construction of the number 1 and number 2 turn lanes described above due to conditions placed on the approval of their development. Larimer County is funding the remaining three turn lanes with capital improvement dollars and capital expansion fee dollars.

Six foot wide paved shoulders will be constructed on County Road 5 south of intersection approximately 1.0 miles to existing paved shoulder. The existing asphalt mat through much of the project will be milled out and replaced with a thicker section (being in the flood plain the road cannot be overlaid because it raises the profile).

The narrow bridge on this stretch of road has been replaced - see PN 307

Project Budget: $1,000,000

PROJECT STATUS

Construction is complete.
