Larimer County encompasses 2,640 square miles. Of the eight communities in Larimer County, the population is concentrated in Fort Collins and Loveland. However, according to the Larimer County Planning Department, in 2012 approximately 23% of Larimer County citizens reside in the unincorporated areas of the county. What the above data tell us:
More than 90% of households in the U.S, Colorado, Larimer County, Fort Collins and Loveland have 1 or more vehicles available. Larimer County has a higher percentage of households with 1 or more available vehicles (95.7%) compared to the nation (90.9%) and the state (94.2%).The percentage of households in Larimer County without a vehicle was slightly higher in 2009-2011 (4.3%) than in 2000 (4.0%).

What the above data tell us:
In general, renter-occupied households are more than 4.5 times more likely to be without a vehicle than owner-occupied households. The percentages shift when broken out by age group. Renters between 15 and 34 are more likely to be without a vehicle, compared to those between 35 and 64.
