Alternative Sentencing Department (ASD)

The primary function of the Alternative Sentencing Department is to provide programs that allow offenders to serve court ordered jail sentences yet remain productive members of the community. The department is comprised of six programs: Pretrial Services, Community Service, Workenders, Midweeks, Work Release, and Electronic Home Detention.

• Mental Health Intervention Pretrial Supervision (MHIPS)
  This program is to identify and provide services to those individuals that have been arrested of a crime that can be linked to their mental health issues. The program was developed to decrease the time it takes to get these individuals out of county detention and into appropriate services.
