2.   Review agenda

B.    Workforce Center Annual Plan                                                                                                                    (8:35 – 9:55)
Yvonne provided some background on the annual plan process.  This year there is
more emphasize on the WIB and how the WIB and Workforce Center’s focus will align with the
Colorado Workforce Development Council’s strategic plan and the Office of Economic
Development & International Trade’s Blueprint for economic development and key
sectors/industries.

The Executive Committee met on May 1, 2012 and drafted some possible focus areas.
The focus areas were discussed, refined and prioritized.

1.    To support and train for middle skill occupations (blue collar)

a.  Position that does not require a four year degree for entry.

2.   Math and science focus
a.  Convene education and industry

3.   Leadership and upward mobility training

a.  Workplace (soft) skills for life long career enhancement and growth

The WIB may not be able to solve the problem but they could be a convener and host discussions.

During the June 13, 2012 WIB meeting the focus areas will be better defined and tasks assigned
 to each sub-committee.

Other                                                                                                                                                                    (9:55 – 10:00)

Yvonne announced that Kathy Dotson is leaving her position with the Larimer County Workforce

Center.  The Workforce Center will rehire.  Some members of the WIB will be asked to
participate on the interview panel.
