Larimer County Offices, Courts, and District Attorney will be closed February 20, 2017 for the Presidents' Day Holiday. The Landfill will be open. Critical services at Larimer County are not disrupted by closures.

Members present: David Bee, Curtis Bridges, Karen Crumbaker, Minerva Lee, Val Manning, Gail Meisner, John Rankin, Richard Seaworth, Jon Slutsky, Zach Thode and George Wallace. Guests: Matt Makens, Davin Stephens, Wendy White, Laura Grey, Karin Madson and Mike Martin.
Members absent: Jennifer Bornhoft, Lew Gaiter, Brenda Gimeson, Charles Gindler, LuAnn Goodyear, Debra Herston, George Reed, Mike Salaz and Bill Spencer.
I. Curtis Bridges called the meeting to order at 12:35 p.m.
II. Gail Meisner will be taking minutes.
III. The September 11, 2013 AAB Meeting Minutes were approved.
IV. Wendy White from the Colorado Department of Agriculture presented stats on Colorado Agriculture in a Power Point Presentation. She may be contacted at email@example.com.
V. Laura Grey talked about the Ag Tourism efforts in Colorado. Anyone interested in becoming involved may be contact her at Laura.Grey@state.co.us.
VI. Matt Makens, 7News Meteorologist, explained the process of predicting weather in Colorado. For weather information, contact him at matt@The DenverChannel.com or on his facebook page.
VII. Michael Martin is a new member of the CSU Ag and Resource Economics Department on Agricultural Literacy. He talked about the possible changes that will be made to the educational process. Refer your questions to Michael.j.Martin@colorado state.edu
VIII. Larimer County Assessor, Davin Stephens, explained the process of Agricultural Tax Classification system.
IX. Terry Gilbert distributed a schedule for the upcoming Rural Area Outreach Effort meetings. Please try to attend one of the meetings in your area.
X. Val Manning gave a report on the LC Fair booth. It was very successful in the new location.
XI. Gail Meisner suggested that the number of presenters at the AAB meetings be limited to two in order to have more time for members to engage in discussions on important Ag issues.
XII. Brenda Gimeson sent word that the webpage will be updated and members will be contacted to take a group photograph for the webpage.
XIII. Concerns about the Open Burning Ordinance Changes were briefly discussed and it was decided to ask the Commissioners to table a decision until the Board is able to make recommendations.
XIV. Announcement: Val Manning will be holding Herding trials and a chili cook-off at her farm on September 28 & 29 beginning at 10 a.m.
XV. Suggested meeting topics for next month: Poudre Valley REA, Fire Chief and Representative, Randy Fischer.
