TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2010

 

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS

 

The Board of County Commissioners met at 9:00 a.m. with Neil Gluckman, Assistant County Manager. Chair Pro Tem Donnelly presided, and Commissioner Gaiter was present. Also present were:  Donna Hart, and Deni LaRue, Commissioners’ Office; Michael Whitley, Planning Department; and Gael Cookman, Deputy Clerk. 

 

1.   PUBLIC COMMENT:  Chair Pro Tem Donnelly explained that the Executive Session regarding the Medical Marijuana Ban will be postponed until September 14, 2010, so that Commissioner Johnson can be in attendance for the decision on whether or not the ban applies to those that have already applied to become a center.  

 

Erica Freeman, Brian Freeman, Sarah Gustin, Seth Gustin, and Peter Verchick spoke in support of allowing the Medical Marijuana Center applications already in progress to be “grandfathered” and not part of the ban adopted by the Board:   

 

Fred Kirsch, James Dupray, Nate Miller, Julia Muench, and Chantel Harre spoke on behalf of the Community for Sustainable Energy and encouraged the Board to support the PACE energy conservation loan program.

 

2.    APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 23, 2010: 

 

M O T I O N

 

Commissioner Gaiter moved that the Board of County Commissioners approve the minutes for the week of August 23, 2010, as amended

 

Motion carried 2-0.

3.    REVIEW OF THE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 6, 2010:   Ms. Hart reviewed the upcoming schedule with the Board.

 

4.     CONSENT AGENDA:

 

M O T I O N

 

Commissioner Gaiter moved that the Board of County Commissioners approve the consent agenda, as listed below:

 

PETITIONS FOR ABATEMENT:  As recommended by the County Assessor, the following Petitions for Abatement are approved:  James Baker; James and Christina Verg; Hochberger Living Trust; Hackchan and Marta Rhee; and Elise Sweet.

 

08312010A001           MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE LARIMER COUNTY FOUNDATION, INC. 

 

LIQUOR LICENSES:  The following licenses were approved and/or issued:  Dunraven Inn – Hotel and Restaurant – Estes Park; Red Feather Roadhouse – Tavern – Red Feather Lakes.

 

Motion carried 2-0.

 

5.    COUNTY MANAGER WORKSESSION:  There were no worksession items to discuss. 

 

6.   COMMISSIONER ACTIVITY REPORTS:   The Board discussed their activities at events during the past week.

 

7.   LEGAL MATTERS:   There were no legal matters to discuss.
