County Offices, Courts and the Landfill will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of the Labor Day Holiday. Critical services at Larimer County will not be disrupted by this closure.
For the 23rd consecutive year, Larimer County has been awarded the 'Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting' by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States. The County Finance Division received the award for their Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2004.
Larimer County's Finance Director Carol Block says the GFOA uses an extensive checklist to scrutinize our financial report, "The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program. They award programs that demonstrate a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate the financial story and motivate users to read the CAFR." Citizens can view the CAFR on Larimer County's web site.
In accordance with the GFOA's rules, Larimer County's CAFR was reviewed by professional financial peers from across the country and a technical financial expert from the GFOA. The GFOA is a nonprofit association serving 16,000 government finance professionals from throughout the nation.
