Rural Addressing in Larimer County

In Larimer County, the Rural Road Naming and Site Addressing System Resolution was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in 1994. This resolution contains procedures in road naming and creating address numbers. It is intended to guide staff to maintain a consistent, systematic, logical, and intuitive address system for unincorporated Larimer County.

Accurate addressing ensures emergency services (such as police, fire, and ambulance) to be able to locate and respond quickly; however, it is not solely derived for emergency services. Local citizens and visitors benefit from proper addressing techniques in order to find their way in a timely manner. It also reduces delivery time for postal carriers and private providers such as FedEx, UPS, cable, and telephone companies.
