Addressing - Unincorporated Larimer County

Our team only assigns addresses within unincorporated Larimer County. If you need an address for a property within one of the municipalities within Larimer County, please visit these addressing pages:

• If you are building, you will work with our Building Department.
• If you are developing, you need to work with our Planning Department.
• If you are installing / modifying anything septic system related, you then work with our Health Department.

This process only impacts property/tax parcel address - NOT mailing address. Changes to a property-related mailing address in Larimer County must be made through the Assessors Office using their Assessor's Change of Address Form

 An address is not required prior to submitting a building permit request, an address will be assigned as part of the building permitting process through the Larimer County Building Department. 

*An address number may be assigned to a vacant platted lot, unplatted tract or parcel, or tract or parcel developed by metes and bounds if requested by the property owner and if the final determination of the driveway access point has been made.

*Any private access driveways that provide access for to more than one residence are required to become a named private access drive (Larimer County street inventory rules), conform to the Larimer County Standards for private local access, and all residence using the access drive will be given a new address based off of the newly named private drive.

The following information available when completing the vacant land address request from

1. Property owner information: name, phone number and email address.
   • Agent information if applicable - name, phone number, and email address
2. Property information - Parcel Number, legal description
3. A sketch of the property to be addressed - A diagram with clear property lines showing the driveway's location clearly indicating the location the driveway intersects with the nearest named road. 
   • If the driveway crosses adjacent properties please verify that you have any necessary access agreements.

Address Request Form - Once the form has been submitted you will receive an email verify the reqeust has been received and placed in the addressing queue to be worked.
